I wish to make a 4 led light track system for display purposes, using MR 16 -led fittings. What type of 12 volt driver would I need to purchase please?

Add up your amp requirements, ~20mA ea. LED or their spec's then add up their voltage ratings. If you drive these in parallel you may need more than 12v and amperage may be +100mA or more.
Used a Buck puck or LDO White LED drive specific for LED's and white. These draw more power and amperage and should be voltage matched. Impedenance regulators provide constand current at stable voltages for such use.
Many LED strings, rope , spot or other designs are avail off the shelf at 12v 120v or other AC/DC config ...check Ebay and other LED lighting suppliers
