Is a 5 volt, low current, simple circuit, LED available? | |
I have 5 volts available and I would like to use the lowest possible current to add a steady-state or (more desireable) a flashing LED and circuit by adding a second load to an existing TTL gate signal. I have very, very, very little physical space to add an LED and its driver circuit. Color is not very important although visibility is. As I walk down an aisle in a well (flourescent) lit area, I need the Led to catch my visible attention a minimum of 10 to 20 feet ahead of me.
Can you help?
Best regards,

Many 5v or less LED's are available. Assume you need white vs. lower current red. Bright lit rooms or office will require LED with 500-1000mcd or upto 10 lumens.
Look for parametric search at suppliers like mouser.com or allied, digi-key etc. search for flashing, low current LED's with mcd over 1000 in your preferred colors. also no need for drivers as 5v led at 20-100mA have built in IC's for flashing, cycle rates or SMD LEDS in sizes 1206 or smaller also with 555 time IC's for flashing rates in very VERY small space 3mmx3mm.
